Oh how the weatherman lied. The predicted 2-3 foot seas were never present, though the slow journey from Edisto was not bad until we encountered a storm 11 miles from our destination. That is when the sea got angry my friends.

We decided that the slow forward momentum was not sufficient, so we dropped our lines in at 8:30. We quickly had two strikes, but no hookups. Then the left rigger (yellow skirt) was slammed. Marie tended the rod, and battle ensued. Falling around the deck, clearing lines, we had our winning Dolphin (we were in a local dock tournament) within sight. Twenty feet behind the boat, the 25-30# fish was making its way toward destiny. Unfortunately, destiny for the Dolphin was to fight another day, as the hook pulled without explanation.

It was not long before we had our first fish in the box; a mid-twenties Wahoo that succumbed to Ashley Twombley's perseverance.

It was slow, and rough, going for a while. We later boated another decent Wahoo, and the day finished with a King skying on the baits. The ride in was very pleasant.
